Joan of Arc inspired the future of France. After Joan's death in 1453 the English were driven out of France. France claimed the land. France's population had dropped about 75% over the 150 years, deaths due to illnesses and war. The French over time built back up their population.
In 1456 a court comprised of clergymen from throughout Europe declared her innocent. In 1920 she was declared a saint by the catholic crunch of France. Today, she is viewed as a heroine and the patron saint of France.
