Voices and Visions...

At the age of 13, Joan started hearing voices and visions which she believed were sent by God. The voices of Saint Mchael, Saint Catherine, and Saint Margaret spoke to her through the light of her church candles, with the pain in her heart when she thought about the war that was happening around her. They revealed God's mission: Heaven chose her to end the Hundred Year War and lead France to freedom.

“My voices were from God. All I did, I did at God's command. My voices did not lie. My visions were from God"(Joan of arc).

Charles IIV of French, 1444, Wikapedia

These visions and voices told her that it was her mission to free her country from the English and to help the dauphin, Charles, and gain the French throne. Charles, whose father was the king of England, had just passed. It should have went straight to Charles, but with complations in the Monarch. He was under question.

After hearing these voices for many days she went to the town of Vaucoulers to ask for a military escort to the king. Naturally, she was denied because she was a girl, but that didn't stop her. She repeatedly asked and eventually they gave in. She pleaded to the government to try and get Charles the King of France since they had not really had a leader since the war started. The government had tried to have higher monarchs lead, while they were questioning Charles. With Charles becoming the leader, the people of France were excited to have a sense of safety and hope with the new leader. After initially meeting the Dauphin on 23 May 1429 at Loches, Joan of Arc next met Charles on 21 June at the Fleury Abbey to persuade Charles to let her fight. Joan wanted to be a soldier, she pleaded and Joan told Charles she could do it; the voices told her to keep trying. After two days of talk, King Charles gave her armor, banner, and sword.

"Great and formidable Prince, Duke of Burgundy... I pray, beg, and request as humbly as I can that you wage war no longer in the holy kingdom of France, and order your people who are in any towns and fortresses of the holy kingdom to withdraw promptly and without delay..."
